Barbara Zell Epstein passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the St. Martha Center in Downingtown, PA, where she was known for her beautiful smile.
She was 77 years young.
Barbara was born in the Washington, District of Columbia, to the late (and legendary) Dr. Julius Epstein and Rose (Friedlander) Epstein.
Barbara was a whirling dervish of a woman: full of energy, passion, compassion, and curiosity. She was a world traveler, a philanthropist (for a variety of causes she deeply cared for), and a life-long learner. She earned a Masters degree in Psychology, which was of little surprise to those who knew her, as she had a deep-rooted desire to care for others.
Barbara is survived ~ and dearly missed ~ by her three loving daughters: Lauren Beth Efford (Robert), Karin Elise Jimenez (Dr. Carlos Jimenez), and Felicia Morgenstern (Arjan Van Oeveren), 2 grandsons, Ryan Daniel and Alexander “Alex” Jimenez, as well as her two sisters; Sydney Herman (Marty), and Ilene Leventhal (Norman).
Relatives and friends are invited to Barbara’s memorial service on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, 2:30 pm, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, PA 19335, where family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
