Barbara Porter (Edwards) Cloetingh, 64, of Downingtown, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Chester County Hospital, West Chester.

Born in Bryn Mawr, Barbara was the daughter of the late Ted and Shirley (Brown) Edwards. She was the wife of Brian Charles Cloetingh. The couple shared 43 years of marriage.

Barbara had been a long-time member of Calvary Fellowship Church, Downingtown. Within the church, she had served as a sponsor of their Senior High Youth Group. She had also spent her time teaching Bible study through the Chester County Women’s Prison Ministry and participated with the Chester county Woman’s Services of Coatesville. Barbara enjoyed reading, journaling, writing encouraging cards for her family and friends, and spending time with her grandchildren. She could best be described as one of the most beautiful, loving, outgoing, brave women you would ever meet. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone and developed many friendships over the years. Barbara had a contagious and recognizable laugh. 

In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her children: Bradley Charles Cloetingh of Coatesville, PA; Dr. Daniel Edward Cloetingh, husband of Dr. Morgan (Ballard) Cloetingh, of Boise, ID; and Emily (Cloetingh) Gibson, wife of Todd, of Lansdale, PA grandchildren: Reid (6), Reese (3), Wesley (3), and Jillian (1); siblings: Gwynne Tracy, Ted Edwards Jr., Joan Cloetingh, and Neill Edwards. 

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022 at 11 AM at Providence Church, 430 Hannum Ave., West Chester.
