Alan Roy Lavers, age 66, of Chester Springs, PA, passed away on June 29, 2018, at the Chester County Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Alan was born in Bourton-on-the-Water, England to the late Len and Joan (nee Price) Lavers.
As a young man in England, Alan enjoyed working in the family pub, playing darts, listening to rock’n’roll (The Byrds, the Stones, Tom Petty), and working as a local milkman for 15 years. In England he befriended many and remained a steadfast supporter of his native country all his life.
In 2000, Alan moved to the United States, and met his “foreverly” love Lynn, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage. Alan adjusted splendidly to life in America, walked countless miles reading meters, made hordes of friends and smiles, and served as a role model for cheerfulness to his sons and grandchildren.
Alan loved watching sports, especially football, and was a lifelong Liverpool fan. Alan was a loving husband and father, and took being “Granddad” quite seriously. He will be missed dearly for his kind and loving nature as well as his sense of humor and laugh.
Alan is survived and missed by his wife Lynn (nee Stirling); 4 sons; Elliott (Vanessa), Brian, Keith (Wendy), Michael, sister Carole Sampson,2 grandchildren; John and Freida, 2 nephews; Mark (Louise) and Dean (Maria) Sampson, great nephew Callum and great niece Lola Sampson, and father-in-law Len Stirling and mother-in-law Regina Schwabe.
