Virginia B. Ehrich, 87, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Center in West Chester, surrounded by her family.
A resident of Downingtown, Virginia was born in Pottsville in 1929 to Joseph Davis and Ruth Hardy Davis. She has one sister, Gwendolyn Davis Reese. In 1948, she married John E. Keller (who preceded her in death in 1974) and had three children; Ruth Keller Klein, John Joseph Keller and Robin Keller Bentley (who also preceded her in death). She married Clarence Richard Ehrich in 1976 and had a very happy 5 years before his death from a tragic car accident.
She worked for National Precision Casting in Frazer, LMC in Lionville and finally as an assembler for MARS Electronics in West Chester before she retired at age 65.
She was very active member of Messiah Lutheran Church for over 60 years. During that time, she taught Sunday School, was secretary of her women's bible study group, volunteer in the Alter Guild and helped with many funeral luncheons.
She loved to play games and cards, most recently Mexican Train Dominoes and Phase 10. Her hands were never idol. She was constantly busy making crafts/gifts, knitting booties or sweaters, hooking Christmas tree skirts for family members or reading voraciously, often several books a week. She loved to watch sports (especially the Phillies and Eagles), American Ninja Warrior, the Hallmark Channel and Perry Mason Mysteries. She’d often complain about those baseball players adjusting themselves on the mound or at bat.
In addition to her sister, Gwendolyn, Virginia is survived by her daughter, Ruth Keller Klein and her son-in-law Russell Klein of Downingtown; son, John J. Keller of Springfield, MA; five grandchildren, Kelly S. Klein (Tammy) of Effort and Washington DC, Amy V. Beaudoin (Christopher) of Thorndale, Andrew K. Bentley of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Zachary Bentley of Coatesville, Becca Bentley of Bethlehem; three great grandchildren, Mason Klein, Jayden Klein, and Paige Beaudoin; two nieces; and a number of other relatives and close friends. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Milo, who is a joy to all he meets!
She loved her home, her church, her friends and family. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.
Services will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 46 W. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA, 19335 on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Family will begin to receive guests at 9:45 am. Memorial Service to begin at 11 am. Private graveside service for family and friends at Northwood Cemetery later in the afternoon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to Messiah Lutheran Church at the above address.
Arrangements were handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home and Messiah Lutheran Church. The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and many prayers, especially Susan Oddo and Denise Baksi of Neighborhood Hospice for their kind and caring way and all they did to keep her comfortable during these very difficult months. We also thank the staff at the Neighborhood Hospice Inpatient Care Center for gentle care they gave her during those last hours.
