I used to lean excitedly over my keyboard in my bedroom when we were in middle school and AIM was this new cool thing, every time you sent me a message. I'm glad we stayed in touch for several years after that but I constantly regret not reaching out to you sooner. You were an inspiring person. May you and your family feel peace and comfort.

Though I'd only recently met Tom (we were in a book series together), I already had learned how kind, funny, and very intelligent and creative a person he was. My deepest condolences to the family. I didn't know Thomas but I can sympathize with you and your family of the tragedy of losing a son and a talent that had so much success and was destined to fulfill all dreams of accomplishment only to be taken at such a young age..
