Shannon M. Cortigine, age 56, of Annapolis, MD, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Shannon was born and raised in Maryland, and was the daughter of Thomas P. Jeffords Sr. and Mary (Andercyk) Jeffords.

Shannon spent majority of her life in Baltimore, and lived the past 12 years in Coatesville, PA with her husband Michael Cortigine. She obtained her Master’s Degree from the College of Notre Dame, and received her Bachelors from Towson University. Shannon took the utmost pride in her job as executive director of various non-profit agencies. Her career focused on working with people with disabilities. In her college years, Shannon was a proud sister of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority.

Shannon loved being outdoors, pursuing her hobbies of hiking, biking, kayaking, and camping. She loved being with her husband Michael Cortigine , whom shared 12 years, and spending as much time with her family as possible. Shannon found her happy place anywhere near a body of water, and was known for her skillful eating of Maryland blue crabs and washing it down with a cold Yuengling.

Shannon is preceded in death by her mother Mary Jeffords.

She is survived and missed by her husband Michael, father Thomas P. Jeffords Sr., brother Thomas P. Jeffords Jr., sister Lonnie Branham, and many loving extended family members and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 12th at Govans Presbyterian Church, 5828 York Road, Baltimore, MD 21212, with a reception immediately to follow.
