My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this beautiful young man. The compassion he had for others was one of it's kind, always making people laugh and smile, giving hope to those who were down. Heaven has gained an angel.

Sam was my first love. I never forgot him, and I never will. Although we only got back in touch a couple of years ago, I was so happy we could speak again. He was so supportive of me up until the end. He would tell me to remember to take it easy on myself, and not to burn myself out too hard on the work I do with animals. He said he was proud of me, which meant a lot. I remember always seeing the goodness in him, and how big his heart was. I always wished he could return the kindness he gave to others to himself. I will never forget the day I met him, I will never forget the 4 years we spent together, I will never forget how good his family was to me - especially because at the time, I didn't feel like I had one. Sam always had a very special place in my heart. But that place isn't empty now just because he is gone. I will carry him with me forever. I will picture his smile, and the way his eyes squinted. I will hear him call me "squirt ". And I will never stop sending love to you guys - Sam's mom, Jeb, Sean, Smokey, and Ellie. I wish there was something I could do for you all. But please know I am with you in my heart, and I'd give anything for things to be different.
