Richard W. Procter, 81, of Coatesville, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Freedom Village. He was the beloved husband of Cynthia M. Mayo Procter, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.

Born in Hartlepool, England, he was the son of the late Richard and Emily Hornsby Procter.

Rick graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Physics from Edinburgh University, Scotland and a Masters Degree in Operations Research/Applied Statistics from Union College, Schenectady, New York.  

He worked for IBM in East Fishkill, New York for 31 years as an engineer before retiring in 2001. He was involved with the Mid Hudson Investors Club for over 15 years after retirement. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, gardening, traveling, skiing, loved everything about England, but most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his daughter, Deborah M. Crawford and her husband Howard A. and two grandchildren, Matthew and Brian Crawford. He was predeceased by his sister, Emily Teresa.

Services will be held privately with the family.
Arrangements are being handled by the James J. Terry Funeral Home, Downingtown.
