Kathryn Shirley Doubts of West Chester
Kathryn Shirley Doubts, 88, of West Chester, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Chester County Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late George R. Doubts, with whom she shared 24 years of marriage prior to his passing in 1979.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Kathryn Helfrick Wentzel.
Kathryn loved playing bingo and cards, especially Pinochle. She enjoyed shopping at the Dollar Store and watching Law and Order SVU, Murder She Wrote, Price Is Right and The Lawrence Welk Show. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Mrs. Doubts is survived by her children, Kathie M. (Leonard) Cannella, Georgene D. (John) Carbo, and Lester R. (Debbie) Doubts; a brother, Richard (Nancy) Wentzel; two granddaughters, Michele (Mark) Bird and Laura (Mitch) Dingess and by four great grandsons, Anthony and Alexander Bird and Connor and Cooper Dingess. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Arlene Eisenhower and by a brother, William Wentzel.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, where family and friends will be received from 1-2:15 p.m.
Interment will be private with the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Downingtown Senior Center, 983 E. Lancaster Avenue, Downingtown, Pa 19335.
