1963-2017

Joseph P. Pennisi, 53, of Downingtown, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 17, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of Joi Ann M. (nee Balsam) Pennisi, with who he shared 26 years of marriage.

Born in Huntington, New York, Joseph was the son of Santo and Rosaria (nee Pavone) Pennisi.

Mr. Pennisi received his Bachelor’s degree from Long Island University.

He was currently an Executive Underwriter for BlueCross/BlueShield of Philadelphia, where he worked for the past six years. Prior to that, he worked for Aetna Insurance.

Joe was an avid Mets fan. He enjoyed vacationing with his family at the beach, but his pride and joy was his son, Andre; especially when he was involved with Tai Kwon Do.

In addition to his wife and parents, Joe is survived by his son, Andre R.; and his brothers, Frank (Paula) and Kenneth Pennisi.

An afternoon visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm, followed by an evening visitation from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 20th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.

A Liturgy service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 21st at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may visit from 10:45 to 11:45 am.

Interment will be private.
