John F. DiBartolomeo of West Bradford Township, passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Life Care Hospital of Chester County, surrounded by many family members. He was the beloved husband of Janet Weikel DiBartolomeo, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Born in West Chester on June 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Marino Joseph DiBartolomeo and Louise Valentino DiBartolomeo.

John was a graduate of B. Reed Henderson High School, class of 1963 and attended Temple University Technical Institute.

An excellent cook himself, he loved watching the cooking shows on TV. He was proud of his Italian Heritage, maintained many family traditions, and always cherished the importance of family. He enjoyed traveling anywhere, but especially trips through New England in his motorhome. He skied in Vermont, California, Colorado and Utah. His hobbies were fishing, wine making, photography and bowling in his younger years. He was the proud owner of a 1929 Model A Ford. He hunted deer in Clearfield County for more than 50 years. John had a keen sense of direction and was often asked by friends and coworkers for directions to their destination. He and his wife often went out for a ride, exploring new areas, never getting lost.

John spent his working career in the mushroom industry. He worked for Grocery Store Products in West Chester, Frezzo Brothers Mushroom Company, Laurel Valley Farms and G. Guizzetti and Sons, all in Avondale.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his brother, Michael J. DiBartolomeo and his wife Pamela G.; a nephew, Michael J. DiBartolomeo, II and his wife Jacqueline S.; and by two great nieces, Elliana Lin and Luciana Louise DiBartolomeo.
