James H. Grim, Jr. “Jim”, 55, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Chester County Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was the beloved Husband of Cynthia E. Brown Grim, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Born in Middletown, Pa, he was the son of the late James H. and Donna Meyer Grim.

Jim attended The Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and was named Young Engineer of the Year by General Electric. During Jim’s time with General Electric and later Ulticom, he had the opportunity to travel the globe doing business first in the aerospace and defense industry, and later in digital communication software throughout Europe and Southeast Asia. As an executive for Ulticom, Jim took the company public on Wall Street. At age 38, Jim was gifted his first surfboard by Cyndii, and his love of surfing and his call to the ocean began. Jim and Cyndii then purchased Ultimate Image Salon and Spa and worked tirelessly transform it into one of the top salons in the Chester County area, eventually building a new facility in Exton, PA, where it resides successfully today. In the midst of running a business, Jim authored the book The Brutally Honest Life Management Journal, a testament to his love of mentoring and bettering others.
Jim will eternally be remembered as an inspirational, passionate, intelligent, loving, and dedicated guiding light to the countless lives he has touched. Although a brilliant businessman, Jim’s strongest passion was dedicated to being an incredible husband and father.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his Daughters Meghan Donna Grim and Caraline Bray Grim.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 20, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Church, 120 St. Elizabeth Dr., Chester Springs.

Interment will be private with the family.
