Gordon B. Meyer

Gordon B. Meyer, age 87, of Downingtown, PA passed away peacefully on April 25, 2024.  He is survived by his beloved wife, Judy (nee Saunders), his daughter Tracy and her husband Mark, his son Eric and his wife Jenny, and his daughter Crista and her husband Jeff. Gordy was the grandfather of Katie and Matthew (Hillary) Pulos; Andrea (Ariel), Fitz and Sylvia Meyer; and Lee, Nick, and Mary Ziegler. Born in Detroit to Cholly and Elinor Meyer, he and his late brother Bruce grew up in Mt. Lebanon, Rochester, and Long Island. Gordy was a proud graduate of Duke University and served in the U.S. Navy as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit (EODU) diver in Hawaii. He had a long career in sales in the printing industry, but his passions were golf, squash, and skiing, and he fostered a love of sports in his children and grandchildren.  Gordy was a member of Whitford Country Club for nearly 60 years, where he served on the Men’s Golf Association, organized many golf tournaments, and enjoyed being a course rater for the Golf Association of Philadelphia.  He excelled at social events -- telling stories, dancing, sharing his expertise on a wide range of subjects, or demonstrating the proper technique for a sand shot or long jump. Gordy was also a skillful carpenter and all-around handyman, ever prepared when friends called “Gordo, I need…”  He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
