Emilie Y. Weaver Formerly of Newtown Square

Emilie Y. Weaver, 96, formerly of Newtown Square, passed away on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Tel Hai Retirement Community in Honey Brook.

She was the wife of the late Delvin Burns Weaver, who passed away in 2002, with whom she shared 57 years of marriage.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Guido and Lena (Paolini) Scanzaroli.

Emilie graduated from Upper Darby High School. Later in life, Emilie worked in the accounting industry. In her free time she enjoyed reading, watching the news, playing cards and sports, especially basketball. Emilie loved watching sports as well and had a special spot in her heart for the Philadelphia Phillies. She was a member of St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square where she was active with the Legion of Mary.

She is survived by her two sons, Richard B. Weaver (Louise) of Downingtown and Robert C. Weaver (Coreen) of Honey Brook. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Ricky, Cristina, Jonathan (Angela), Garrick (Brandee), and Carly (Brian); and 6 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Benjamin, Isabella, Mia Louise, Andrew and Beau.

She was preceded in death by her brother and sister, Robert (Bob) Scanzaroli and Rita Suarez.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18th at St. Peter’s Church, 2835 Manor Rd., West Brandywine, where family and friends may call from 9:30-10:45 a.m. Interment will be held at All Souls Cemetery.
