Cheryl A. Mitchell, 65, of Downingtown, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at Chester County Hospital after a 14 month battle with cancer.

Born in West Chester, she was the daughter of Myra E. Haas Mitchell and the late James V. Mitchell.

Cheryl graduated from Downingtown High School in 1970. She worked for Chemical Leaman Tank Lines in Downingtown and then went to work for The Vanguard Group before retiring in 2016 after 28 years of service. She was a wonderful caregiver for her mother and father. Cheryl loved to play the accordion and organ and especially loved her Saturday night game night with her nieces and nephew.

In addition to her mother, Cheryl is survived by her sister, Beverly J. (Thomas L., III) Haas; two nieces, Karen Kohrs and Christine (George) Stulak; a nephew, Thomas V. Haas and by five great nieces and nephews, Kelsey, Shawn, Emma, Ryan and Sawyer.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Avenue, where family and friends may call from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.

Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, Frazer.
