Beatrice E. Cohen, 88, of Downingtown, passed away at Freedom Village on Thursday, November 9, 2017 with her family by her side.

Bea was the beloved wife of the late Selig Cohen with whom she shared 68 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2015.

Born in Philadelphia, Bea was the daughter of the late Max and Anna (nee Stein) Gerstenfeld.
Bea was a 1946 graduate of Coatesville High School.

She was past President of the Sisterhood at Beth Israel Congregation.

Bea enjoyed traveling with her husband and baking; but her pride and joy was spending time with her wonderful family.

Mrs. Cohen is survived by her children, Lee Ann Fisher (Marty Simmons), Elise Straple (Randy), Allan Cohen (Roz) and Michael Cohen (Linda); grandchildren, Meredith Fisher, Bill Fisher (Lisa), Ivy Egger (Jon), Adam Cohen (Yinan) and Rachel Hall (Matt); granddaughter-in-law, Crystal Kahn; and six great-grandchildren.
 
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alvin Gerstenfeld and grandson, Steven Kahn.
 
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, November 12th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home - Valley Township, 1060 W. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, where family and friends may visit from 9:30 to. 10:45 a.m. 
 
Interment will be in Beth Israel Cemetery, Coatesville.
 
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Beth Israel Congregation of Chester County, 385 Pottstown Pike, Eagle, PA 19480.
 
The family will be sitting Shiva, Sunday and Monday evening from 7:00 p.m. at Allan Cohen’s residence 1318 Walnut Ridge Dr. Downingtown
