Scott A. Schermerhorn

Scott A. Schermerhorn, 33, of Downingtown, PA died suddenly on January 24, 2012.  He was the beloved son of James and Beverly (Marsh) Schermerhorn.

Scott was born in Bryn Mawr, PA on December 6, 1978.  He attended Downingtown schools and graduated from The Hill School in Pottstown, PA in 1997.  He graduated from the University of Richmond with a degree in Biology and Computer Science and also obtained his MSCE Certification.

He was an IT Administrator for five years in Philadelphia and then changed careers to become an apprentice carpenter.  His passion was restoring historic buildings or carpentry on new ones using historic techniques.

Scott enjoyed spending time with his family, summer vacations in Maine, golfing, and cooking.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Steve, sister-in-law Lori (McFalls), nieces, Reagan and Riley, and grandmother, Doris Marsh.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28 at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 East Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.
