Teresa “Janie” Rosa, 56, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011 at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
Born in Troy, Alabama, she was the daughter of Margaret E. Vandegriff Showalter of Parkesburg and the late Ralph E. Showalter, Sr.
Janie was a hard worker with a great work ethic. Most recently, she worked for the past 20 years for Chick-fil-A in the Exton Mall, then in Lionville. Prior to that, she worked for 10 years as a server at the Terrace Restaurant in Longwood Gardens.
She enjoyed doing arts and crafts.
In addition to her mother, Janie is survived by her husband, Jorge L. Rosa; sons, Vernon C. Showalter of Coatesville, Jorge L. Rosa, Jr. of Downingtown, and Tomas E. Rosa and his wife, Faith N. Rosa, of Coatesville; grandchildren, Jaden M. Gibbs, Kamryn I. Parker, Xavier T. Rosa and Bria M. Williams; brother, Ralph E. Showalter, Jr.; sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Showalter of Parkesburg, Carmen Maldonado of North Carolina, and Charlotte Adamson of Alabama; and cousin, Frances "Francie" Rodriguez of Coatesville.
A funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday, November 10th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, where family and friends may call from 10-11 AM.
Interment will be held in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Teresa J. Rosa Burial Fund c/o the James J. Terry Funeral Home at the above address.
