Armando J. “Andy” Ippolito, Sr., 86, of Downingtown, passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Tel-Hail Retirement Community.  He was the loving husband of the late Jennie Ippolito, with whom he had shared 50 years of marriage at the time of her passing in 1997.

Born in Downingtown, he was the son of the late Phillip and Elizabeth Lupdi Ippolito.

He was a 1943 graduate of Downingtown High School, and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WW II.

Andy worked in the warehouse at Pepperidge Farm for 25 years. 

He was a lifetime member of St. Anthony’s Lodge and a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church, where he served as a Eucharistic minister.

He is survived by his sons, Armando J. “Andy”, Ippolito, Jr. and friend, Carol Olszewski of Phoenixville, and Timothy P. Ippolito and wife, Debbie, of Downingtown; and by his daughter, Christine E. Maeda of Riverside, CA.  He is also survived by his sisters, Philomena Bruno of Downingtown and Dela Powell of Virginia; and by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son, John A. Ippolito, in September of 2011.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, where family and friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  Interment will be private.
