
Virginia Harper
Virginia Harper of Middletown, Delaware, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at home surrounded by family.
Born on April 2, 1951 in Sturgis, Michigan, Ginny was the daughter of the late Udell and Jeanne Lepley.
She graduated from Colon High School and attended Akron University where she earned an Associate’s Degree. She also served in the U.S. Air Force and Army Reserves.
Ginny spent over 20 years working as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, most of those years at the Downingtown PA Post Office.
She loved to travel. She traveled throughout Europe and earlier this year went hiking in Death Valley. The great joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren.
Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Harper.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn and her husband, Jason; son, Rick and his wife, Christine; son, Ted and his wife Katie; nine grandchildren, Emma, Sarah, Savannah, Aiden, Madison, Karleigh, Jamison, Kai, and Vivian. She is also survived by her sisters and best friends Jane Bewley and Barbara Mendes.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 6pm on Thursday, December 29th at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, with a Memorial Service directly following.
