Richard G. "Dick" Carpenter

Richard G. "Dick" Carpenter, 58, of Downingtown, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 27, 2012.

He was the beloved husband of Barbara Stamoutsos Carpenter, with whom he shared 40 years together.

Born in Rochester, New York, Richard was the son of June Kilgore Carpenter of Birmingham, Alabama and the late Frank Carpenter.

For much of his life, he worked as a sales representative for various technical companies.

Dick enjoyed writing computer programs, dirt biking with his son, and walking his dog, Bear.

He was humorous; always having a good joke to tell, and generous, continuously willing to help anyone.

Mr. Carpenter is also survived by his children, Frieda and her fiancé, Brandon McKay, Andrew, and brother, Robert.

Visitation is from 11am to 2pm, Tuesday, January 31st at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, with memorial service to follow.

Interment will be in Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery, Downingtown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Chester County SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380.
