Rose M. Bruno

Rose M. Bruno (nee Pomanto), 87, of Downingtown, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2012 at Wellington Terrace in West Chester.  She was the wife of the late Joseph N. Bruno with whom she shared 56 years of marriage at the time of his passing in 2003.

Born in Downingtown, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Jennie Massini Pomanto.

During the WW II, she worked at the Davey Company in Downingtown to help support her family.  She was then employed by Pepperidge Farm Production, where she worked for 12 years.  Following that, she worked at various jobs throughout the community.

Rose was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church.  In her younger years, she was an active bowler and in her later years, she enjoyed Wii bowling.  She also loved going to Las Vegas and playing video poker machines.

She is survived by her son, Michael J. Bruno and his wife, Cynthia, and by her daughter, Mary Jo Marion and her husband, William, of Chester Springs.  She is also survived by her brothers, Orlando Pomanto of Las Vegas and David Pomanto of Chester Springs; by her sister, Agnes DiEuliis of Downingtown; and by her grandchildren, Justin, Jennine, Erin, Jason and Joseph, and great-granddaughter, Molly Mae.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest, Nicholas, Frank and Luigi.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 26, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown.  Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Caring Hospice Services, 400 Commerce Drive #C, Ft. Washington, PA  19034.
